JOB PURPOSE AND DIMENSION:

To provide continuous assistance to the managers and employees of the company with respect to HR Policies and Procedures including employee relations, engagement, recruitment, benefits, legislation, and wellness programs. Ensure that all employee files and other legislative aspects are beyond reproach. As an HR Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date HR records, managing employee data, and supporting HR processes. You will collaborate with the HR team to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations while providing excellent service to employees regarding HR-related inquiries. The position will require the ability to work under pressure to meet specific deadlines and to smoothly and efficiently deal with numerous issues. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

The successful candidate must deal with confidential information with utmost discretion and meet high standards of integrity.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties include but will not be limited to:

Recruitment

  • Assist in the recruitment process, including job postings, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding.
  • Ensure full adherence to all legislative requirements for recordkeeping related to recruitment-for both successful and unsuccessful candidates.

Industrial Relations:

  • Assist with disciplinary and appeal hearings and grievances in line with the Sea Harvest Disciplinary Code and Procedure.
  • Ensure incident reports, applications to appeal and grievance documentation are all completed in line with procedures.
  • Update and submit IR report monthly.

HR Administration:

  • Generate HR reports and handle general HR enquiries.
  • Ensure all information is filed and captured onto SAGE 300 system. Ensure all filing is up to date.
  • Assist with UIF application processes.
  • Assist with EWP awareness programs.
  • Complete documentation for purposes of capturing employee movements within the business.
  • Assist with the implementation of the temporary disability process, by ensuring relevant documentations are compiled for submission.
  • Support the HR Manager in the implementation of HR initiatives.
  • Maintain the database for the Skills Development and Training information.
  • Track probationary reviews with employees are done on time and correctly.
  • Follow all COIDA cases from submission to completion and keep records.
  • Assist with EE, Skills Development and BBBEE statutory compliance.
  • Assist HR with scheduling meetings and venues.
  • Take and compile minutes

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • ND in Human Resource Management / an Industry-related field and /or Human Sciences Degree
  • SAGE 300 knowledge advantageous
  • At least 2 – 5 years proven work experience in a related role.
  • Sound knowledge of general administrative processes
  • Sound knowledge of HR principles, processes, and procedures

  • Basic understanding of organisational business processes and procedures
  • Good Knowledge of relevant organisational policies
  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects.
  • Excellent conflict management skills
  • Strong phone, email and in-person communication skills
  • Strong Computer Literacy
  • Detail orientated, proactive, pressure resilient, independent and multitask focused.
  • Assertive as well as Customer Centric
