Introduction
We are looking for physically fit candidates with good attention to details for the position of Diesel Mechanic. The primary duties of a diesel mechanic includes performing diagnostic tests on diesel vehicles to find faults, analysing diagnostic test result and repairing or replacing engine, transmission system components.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnosis and repairs to the electrical/mechanical system as failure occurs.
- Carrying out routine service on the engine, including oil and filter changes.
- Repairing or replacing faulty parts and systems.
- Diagnose and repair issues with hydraulics, brakes, transmission, steering, and other systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance.
- Perform welding or fabrication tasks on trailers and other equipment as necessary.
- Prepare work orders and order parts.
- Maintain and troubleshoot various kinds of heavy equipmen like forklifts, graders, loaders and trucks.
- Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems.
- Writes detailed inspection reports and repair plans
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Must have background experience working on Generators
- Experience with small diesel engine repair
- Some welding experience required
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- ASE Diesel certification advantageous
- Valid drivers license and PRDP
- Good diagnostic skills
Package & Remuneration
R15,000-R20,000 per month.
