Full job description

To provide a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the office buidling.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 1 years’ experience performing similar functions
  • Matric (NQF Level 4) or technical college equivalent or higher training.

  • Time management
  • Work under pressure
  • Attention to detail
  • Verbal and listening skills

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Develop routines to ensure all areas of the building are maintained to high standard of cleanliness.

  • Each cleaner will be responsible for an area and will be expected to clean to the frequency and standards set out
  • Empty bins and transport waste to designated area; and washout bins in all offices.
  • Tidy and dust office desks.
  • Vacuum carpets.
  • Daily clean bathrooms and hand basins.
  • Replenish consumable items (toilet paper, hand soap, paper towel, etc.) as may be required
  • Wash floors in kitchen, bathroom, corridors and stair cases.
  • Ensure kitchen cupboards, counters and fridges are kept clean
  • Damp dust where appropriate.
  • Keep a check on cleaning materials and re-order via the Manager.
  • Lock and unlock offices securely.
  • Undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time.
  • To clean internal and external glass doors
  • To clean the lift

Commitment to achieving high standards of cleanliness and hygiene

  • Porterage of anything other of cleaning equipment; mops, vacuum cleaners, buckets, etc.
  • Cleaning office machinery and/or equipment
  • Washing of crockery, cutlery, glasses, etc. used by staff

To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall functions of the job

  • Receive instructions from the facilities Manager on the work programme and/or any priorities related to the specific departments

Compliance with Company Policies & Procedures

  • In order to ensure adequate support is made available safety requirements/laid down instructions complied during the movement of equipment
  • To report to the Line Manager any defects seen which are likely to affect the security of the building
  • Cleaners are required to be aware of their responsibility of Health & Safety for themselves and for others
