Kargo Logistics s is looking for an Operations Manager to join our Fluid Conveyance team in South Africa. The Operations Manager is responsible for leading the plant’s manufacturing operations to achieve customer satisfaction, meet critical business objectives, and drive the long-term success. The Operations Manager will directly manage the operations of the assembly of the Danfoss Fluid Conveyance facility as well as operations on customers’ premises. You will plan, organize, direct and control all facets of the manufacturing operations. Additionally, you will drive performance and deploy a continuous improvement framework to achieve or exceed financial plans, employee engagement, and strategic goals. You will do this by leveraging resources and motivating personnel to create a high-performance culture
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
• Providing leadership, direction, and guidance to supervisors,
• Liaise closely with regional sales team to meet customer expectations and grow the business. Manage customer relationships and technical assistance through customer visits and audits,
• Generating a highly motivated and committed workforce with an emphasis on the development of skills needed to accomplish safety, quality, on-time delivery, and product cost goals,
• Proactively implements, promotes, and maintains a safe working environment through diligence in accident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance, and rule enforcement,
• Coordinate, leverage, and appropriately utilize resources to resolve manufacturing problems, improve processes, meet external and internal customer demands, and ensure business production objectives are achieved,
• Managing the production capacity planning in line with customer demand, • Effectively communicate information (in various types of meetings & settings) of a wide range of performance measures,
• Driving the company’s vision and mission by reinforcing ethics, values, and quality policies throughout its area of responsibility,
• Acting as a business partner by planning, initiating, leading, measuring, monitoring, and assessing continuous improvement programs and manufacturing process improvements by applying appropriate Danfoss Business System (DBS) processes and problem-solving tools such as 6S,
• Promoting a quality culture by demonstrating customer focus and regularly communicating customer feedback to employees to facilitate collaborative problem-solving, drive continuous quality improvement, and ensure alignment/compliance with industry standards
The ideal candidate possesses these skills.
• Bachelor’s degree qualification in either Industrial Engineering or Project Management is preferred for the role,
• Experience in an Operations role within a technical /hydraulic or engineering industry is essential,
• Exceptional communication skills with people management experience is required,
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office tools,
• Knowledge/experience in SAP is preferred and would be an added advantage,
• Experience working in a matrix organization with various reporting lines as well as being familiar and dealing with international stakeholders is a must-have,
• Previous experience having worked on turnkey solutions and various maintenance projects an added advantage,
• Ability to travel (50%).
