Job Purpose
Assist Handyman to execute minor maintenance repairs (and/or new installations) on campus and other designated buildings as well as assisting in moving/arranging furniture & equipment.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Grade 9
At least two (2) years relevant experience working in a general building or the construction sector
Driver’s license will be an added advantage
Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
Assisting the Handyman in completion of multi-disciplinary minor maintenance work in academic and residence buildings in
the following areas:
Plumbing works – Unblocking/replacements of toilets, showers, basins, sinks and drains
Carpentry works – Replacements and minor repairs
Electric works – Changing of light bulbs and starters
Painting: – Minor painting work and patching of holes
Paving work – Repairs to paving distortions caused by various factors
Client Assistance – Assist with moving/arranging furniture and equipment
Safety – Ensure that safety measure are observed & report health and safety issues
Building inspections – Inspection of buildings to ascertain any faults
Cleaning – Cleaning of roof sheets, roof gutters and full bores
Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Maintenance Foreman or Maintenance Manager
