General Worker

JOB PURPOSE
The responsibility of the General Worker is to maintain the beauty of plants, outdoor grounds, and trees in the garden and to perform a range of general maintenance tasks including designing, producing, renewing, and preserving outside spaces and includes refuse removal, keeping the grounds neat and tidy, and general handyman tasks.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience and Qualifications Required:
-Grade 12/Matric.
-2 Years’ experience will be advantageous.
Duties & Responsibilities
-Maintain and grow the garden to ensure it meets specific requirements and expectations.
-Perform basic maintenance such as mowing the lawn, emptying bins, managing weed control, leaf raking, ensuring refuse removal and keeping the grounds neat and tidy.
-Plant and nurture new trees, flowers, and various plants.
-Work with hand tools and basic light machinery such as lawn mowers, weed cutters, etc.
-Service all garden equipment and machinery.
-Maintain a clean garden by clearing rubbish and litter from the grounds.
-Provide guidance to management on matters related to the garden, grounds, equipment and machinery.
-Ensure safe environment for staff and clients by adhering to health and safety regulations.
-Helping other departments with tasks as may be requested from time to time.
Skills and Attributes
-Ability to work in a team as well as on your own.
-Must be technically oriented and be able to improvise.
-Punctual, honest, hardworking, and loyal.
-Good communication and writing skills.
OTHER ASSIGNMENTS
-The General Worker may also, from time to time, be tasked with helping other departments, for instance, helping the warehouse as a runner and/or other similar tasks.
