Introduction

We are recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Industrial Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Duties & Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The purpose of the position is to identify, plan and execute Logistics related projects and data analysis in the City Logistics.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Optimisation of all Dry Goods and Perishables warehouse layouts
• Manage and Refine Labour Management, in terms of the:

– Current Standards

– Revision of work study standards due to changes in work processes

– Various Productivity Based Incentive Schemes
• Analysis of and providing Industrial Engineering solutions to Logistics business challenges, e.g. Productivity Based Pay systems
• Implement and maintain the methods and processes required for “Lean Logistics” thinking and approaches:

– Lead teams and individuals in identified Logistics improvement projects

– Focus on workflows and controls to improve the effectiveness of the Logistics operation

– Educate teams in Lean Thinking Principles and Methods
• Be part of an Operational Line Management Team to support and lead specific projects
• Trouble shooting identified Logistics areas and processes with low productivity
• Data analysis and Benchmarking
• Make use of BI Tools at your disposal

Desired Experience & Qualification
• Matric or equivalent qualification
• Formal Industrial Engineering qualification at a mainstream university
• 3-5 Years Industrial Engineering experience in a Warehouse environment
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)
• Knowledge in SAP EWM, CsxN and any other notable EWM systems
• Project management experience
• Proven ability to use AutoCAD for technical drawings and adjustments thereof
• Provide Leadership in a participative environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Data collection, data analysis and development of potential solutions with motivation on the potential solutions
• Goal orientated and self-driven to achieve results
• Ability to effectively lead and manage various projects at the same time from inception to completion
• Ability to lead and provide direction to a dedicated short-term project team
• Ability to work with various teams to implement Lean Thinking methods and approaches
• Problem analysis and problem-solving methodologies
