Full job description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The main purpose of this position is to produce high quality cards by always maintaining a high volume and a high accuracy.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
The key responsibilities of the position are as follows, but not limited to:
To produce cards of a high standard in terms of quality, whilst at the same time maintaining high levels of output and accuracy.
The Operator must carry out all checks during production as outlined in G+D Work Instructions to ensure correct materials are being used ,and that the quality of printing , embossing, tipping and indent are to the required standard.
Regular checks must also be carried out on the chip and magnetic stripe using the equipment provided.
Ensure accurate card reconciliation by counting the cards at the beginning and the end of each job, completing all documentation in full, and disposing of all waste materials in compliance with standard operating procedure.
Ensure all current security requirements as specified by Visa and Mastercard are be adhere to at all times.
Maintain a clean and tidy work area at all times and the cleaning logs completed at the end of each shift as a record of compliance.
Be aware of the need to maintain standards as required by the 5S program and be prepared to comply with all requests by its Co-ordinators to change or improve work practices where necessary.
Ensuring that all finished work is placed in the correct area so that the requested dispatch method is strictly adhered to.
To carry out other production related duties which may occasionally arise such as card counting, putting away cards in the Inner Vault or assisting in the materials handling function.
Ensure that all work or actions undertaken by the Operator complies with the G+D’s Health and Safety Policy and any non-compliance or potential danger reported to a supervisor.

MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Matric / NQF Level 4 qualification (or equivalent).
At least one years’ experience as a Machine Operator.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Proven understanding of technical aspects of operating machines.
Be able to plan workload to achieve the maximum speed and efficiency of output.
Ability to use computer keyboard and mouse.
Basic numeracy.
Attention to detail is essential including good hand and eye co-ordination and speed.
Flexibility.
Accuracy.
Must enjoy repetitive work.
Must have own reliable transport.
