FPG Foods: General Maintenance Assistant

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep and functionality of our Cape Town stores.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as painting, tiling, and small repairs in the stores.
• Inspect facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs and report them to the appropriate supervisor.
• Repair or replace damaged fixtures, equipment, or structures as needed.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities to ensure optimal functioning.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks.

MINIMUM ACADEMIC, PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in maintenance-related fields is a plus.
• Proven experience in general maintenance work, including painting, tiling, etc.
• Ability to use various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks requiring heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
